📚 Articles, Tutorials, and Videos
Hotreload for Turbo Laravel - Tony Messias introduced and released "Hotreload for Turbo Laravel", which is similar to what we have in the Rails World with the recently released Hotwire Spark. It's awesome to see these kind of tools getting created in the wider web development community.
Real-Time Updates in a Ruby on Rails Dashboard with Hotwire - Nicolas Galdamez demonstrates on the Unagi Software blog how to implement real-time updates in a Rails dashboard using Turbo Frames and Stimulus. By creating Turbo Frames for each data component and associating them with a Stimulus controller that reloads content at specified intervals.
Turbo streams broadcasting in Rails, update methods - Ahmed Nadar explains how to use Turbo Streams to broadcast updates directly from update methods in Rails. He walks through best practices, common pitfalls, and how to seamlessly update specific parts of a page in real-time without a full refresh.
Ruby on Rails on WebAssembly: a guide to full-stack in‑browser action - Vladimir Dementyev published an article on the Evil Martians blog demonstrating how to run a fully functional Ruby on Rails application entirely within the browser using WebAssembly. The guide walks through creating a basic Rails blog application, then packaging it for WebAssembly using the wasmify-rails
library. This approach eliminates the need for a server, allowing both the frontend and backend to operate locally in the browser.
LearnHotwire.com Couse Recording Progress - Chris Oliver shared an update on the learnhotwire.com course he is launching together with William Kennedy. So far they recorded 46 lessons for the Rails section and are planning to record more. Sign up and get notified when they launch the course on learnhotwire.com.
